Thursday June 7, 2012

Hello All,

As my cousin said to me in a comment on the blog yesterday.."You do know that it is Wed. June 6th?" I had the 5th on there... Sorry!  No, I don't have a clue what day it is or the date, we forgot our anniversary cuz we didn't know what day it was... I have to look at my phone to see what day it is!
Oh I like being retired!! Not a care in the world, going along oblivious to date and time .. It's gonna be a rude awakening when I get back home! HA!

Today we slept in and it was Fantastic! We caught the Branson Scenic Railway at 11:30 and had a lovely 2 hour train ride into the Ozarks... Sat up in the observation car and it was pretty cool.. Met a very nice couple and it made the time fly by. We then headed to our hotel where a couple Gary had sold a top to came by to check our car out with their upholsery guy.. We all had a nice visit and then Gar and I headed to the World's Largest Toy Museum. It was interesting, with (I feel pretty confident saying this) every toy imaginable from the 1900's forward...  We saw lots of toys we had as kids or toys we wanted, and enjoyed our time there.

We had dinner at the Great American Steak and Chicken House, the site of the largest hand carved chicken. Oh yes, you heard me right, the LARGEST HAND CARVED CHICKEN! Check my photo, that's me under that chicken! I wanted Gar to get under that chicken, but he was having no part of it! The things I do to try and convey what Branson is really like!

We went to the Pressley Family Jamboree tonight and it was pretty cool. The longest running show in Branson and the first one to have their own theater. Four generations perform in the show, and it is old time country with some bluegrass and gospel thrown in. A great show and another one we would recommend if you get to Branson.

Tomorrow we are off to St. Louis! I'm soooo looking forward to Frozen Custard!!!!

See ya on the Road,
Ter  :)

PS: Gar's too tired tonight to write, I'm sure he will write tomorrow...

Hi Derek! Ta-Ta rode this train today!
Two of my new friends, Dina and Baby Girl....  So cute!
