May 12, 2012 Saturday

Hello All,
We have been on the road 15 days and I have to say it has been fun, but I am missing my kids, my dog, my God sons, my nephews and nieces... So many firsts are happening while we are away.. Happy First Communion Dominic, it was fun talking to you and I'm glad that Ta-Ta gave you something fun as well as something to mark your big day. Remember that when I'm old and ask you to go to the store for me OK? :)
Car trouble again today but the "Car Whisperer" got it handled, as usual. He is a genius, I sit in the car and wait and in a few minutes (or hours depending on our problem of the day) and suddenly the car comes to life and we are on our way again...

Had a great visit with Darlene and PJ and had a fantastic Lobster (do you see a theme here? I love LOBSTER!) dinner on the beach. Too short a visit, but it sure was fun. Then on to Danbury CT where we surprised Gary's long time friend Bruce at a bar where his band was playing. It was a fun night and we are off to his house tomorrow to hang out.

NYC tomorrow if we can figure out how to get on a train outside of the city as we don't want to take the car into NYC. We have reserved tickets to the 9/11 memorial for 12:30 so hopefully we will make it. Then on to the Statue of Liberty and whatever else interests us...
Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mothers... Wish I was with you to enjoy the day, I'll be thinking of you.......
See ya on the Road,
Ter :)

'From the driver's seat'....Well, the trouble free streak (what....five? six days?) is over....yesterday morning I hit the starter and it turned over...pumped the gas and hit the starter again aaaaannnnnndddddddddd nothing. WHAAAAA? I tracked down the problem to a short circuit in the line from the ignition switch to the starter so I bypassed it with a push button under the dash. Again, not a HUUUUUUGE problem but why all this weird stuff?
On the drive from Boston to Connecticut I noticed one glaring fact....absolutely no one obeys the speed limit. When it was 40, I did 45 and got run over. When it was 55, I did 65 and got run over. Maybe it's because I haven't seen a police car in three days, they figure there's not much chance of being caught!
Terry and I met with my Aunt Darlene for a lobster dinner on the beach. My cousin PJ met us out there and we had a wonderful time for too short a time. She has a lovely home and two crazy dogs....We appreciate her moving her very busy schedule to visit with us.
Later in the evening we went to a bar in Danbury, CT, to surprise my friend Bruce where his band was playing. He was unloading his equipment and I asked him what else needed to go in. He was so focused on what he was doing he told me to grab a mike stand but when I just stood there and stared at him his eyes lit up! It was a crazy time listening to his music and having some good laughs. We finally met his long time girlfriend Carol and made plans to meet later today.
As I look out the window at the covered shape of the wagon, I wonder what surprises await me tomorrow.......

  1. You guys sound like you are having sooooo much fun. I just can't believe you are eating lobster. Uncle Larry would be so proud, and I am so jealous. Lobster on the East Coast is the best!!!!!! My mouth is watering at the memory. Enjoy the memorial. It is lovely. Be sure to go on to Ellis Island after the Statue of Liberty (same ferry). They have a fascinating museum there and remember that Nana went through Ellis Island TWICE. Miss you guys. ~Love, Laurie
